A board-certified medical oncologist, Dr. Patterson’s expertise will expand the leading-edge care Tampa General provides in the Palm Beaches and on the Treasure Coast.
West Palm Beach, FL (April 1, 2025) – TGH Cancer Institute | Cancer Center of South Florida (CCSF) welcomes board-certified medical oncologist Stephen G. Patterson, MD, to its practice, effective April 1. He will specialize in treating patients with prostate, bladder, kidney, and lung cancers.
Patterson is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and has more than 30 years of experience in both academic and private settings. He received his medical degree, completed his residency in internal medicine, and his fellowship in medical oncology and hematology – all at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida.

Patterson has lectured nationally, conducted extensive research, participated in clinical trials, and published many works on prostate, testicular, and bladder cancers, as well as metastatic lung cancer. He was also one of the first clinical investigators to study the impact of PD1 modulation in metastatic lung cancer and melanoma, a therapy now curing a percentage of patients with metastatic disease.
