West Palm Beach, FL (September XX, 2024) – TGH Cancer Institute|Cancer Center of South Florida (CCSF) welcomes world-renowned head and neck oncologist and clinical researcher, Marshall Posner, MD, to its practice, as of October 1, 2024.

Posner joins TGH Cancer Institute|CCSF from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, where he was a professor of medicine and medical director of the head and neck oncology program. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.
At TGH Cancer Institute|CCSF, Posner’s clinical practice will focus on head and neck cancers, thyroid cancer and cutaneous malignancies of the head and neck. He will serve as medical director of the Cancer Center Trial Office for the practice, providing local cancer patients with access to cancer trials.
“In addition to providing head and neck cancer patients with personalized, impeccable, and cutting-edge care, Dr. Posner will also serve as a bridge for patients in Palm Beach and Martin counties looking to gain access to and participate in game-changing and innovative cancer clinical trials,” said Schwarzberg.
Nationally known as an empathetic clinician and leader in developing treatments for head and neck cancers, Posner has performed seminal studies in induction chemotherapy and de-escalation treatment in HPV-related oropharynx cancer. He has published more than 285 peer-reviewed laboratory and clinical studies. Posner has been the? a? principal investigator of National Institute of Health (NIH) grants in immunology and of multiple Phase 1, 2, and 3 clinical trials. His research and clinical practice have most recently been aimed at immunotherapy, HPV oropharynx cancer and salivary gland cancers.

Posner graduated from Yale University in 1971 and Tufts University School of Medicine in 1975. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital and a fellowship in medical oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 1981. Before joining Mount Sinai, he was the medical director of head and neck oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School in Boston.
